A clinical bowling performance by host Guyana Jaguars left them scenting victory at stumps on day three at Providence in their clash against the Jamaican Scorpions.
Jaguars who are coming off two consecutive defeats are 25 without loss, needing 145 more runs for victory which will triger a return to their winning ways.
The host resumed the third morning on 202-5, still trailing by 156 runs with Christopher Barnwell and Raymon Reifer returning to the crease on 21 and five respectively.
The first two sessions saw them grinding it out before they were dismissed for 321 in 113.3 overs with Barnwell (42) and Anthony Bramble (45*) along with the lower order staging a valiant resistance.
Dennis Bulli (3-91) and discarded West Indian seamer Jerome Taylor (3-27) were the pick of the bowlers for the Jamaicans who were skittled out for 132 in their second innings to leave the game open for the Guyanese.
Left arm spinner Gudakesk Motie (3-11) and seamer Reifer (3-36) shared six wickets between them which landed the host in an ideal positon as they ended the day closing in on another win in this year’s championship.
