National U19 to face GCB’s academy players in warm-up match ahead of regional U19 title defence

As a part of their preparations, Guyana’s national U19 team will engage in a three-day practice match against the GCB academy players from Tuesday, July 24 – Thursday, July 26, 2018, at the Everest Cricket Club ground.

The three-day match is organized to add match preparedness ahead of the regional U19 tournament set for St. Vincent, beginning on July 30th, 2018 with Guyana aiming to retain the CWI Regional Under-19 double they captured in 2017 under skipper Ronaldo Ali – Mohammed.

The teams are as follow:

National Under-19: Bhaskar Yadram- Captain, Kevin Sinclair, Alex Alvin Algoo, Sachin Singh, Adrian Hinds, Junior Sinclair, Kevlon Anderson, Javed Karim, Yeudister Persaud, Kelvin Umroa, Joshua Persaud, Ashmead Nedd, Qumar Torrington. This team will be managed by Andy Ramnarine and coached by Julian Moore.

The six standby players are Joel Fortune, Sadik Khan, Sherland Anthony, Kurt Lovell, Karan Arjpaul and Silvan Williams.

GCB Academy: Akshaya Persaud-Captain, Anthony Adams- Vice Captain, Robin Bacchus, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Raymon Perez, Tevin Imlach, Sherfane Rutherford, Kemol Savory, Clinton Pestano, Ramaal Lewis, Raun Johnson, Richie Looknauth and Ricardo Adams. That team will be managed by Michael Franco while Clive Grimmond will function as the Coach. (GCB)
