Vanguard claim easy wins on day one of DVA league

Vanguard Volleyball Club began the Demerara Volleyball Association (DVA) A – Division Volleyball league on a strong note after notching up two wins at the National Gymnasium on Sunday.

The club who is also the reigning DVA Female Volleyball Champions claimed their first win against Pakuri Warriors of St. Cuthbert’s Mission, three sets to one.
Vanguard them served their way past Linden Fluffy Girls in a similar fashion, three sets to one, to set an ideal tone for the remainder of the league.

Other winners on the day saw Pakuri and Fluffy Girls upstaging season campaigners Castrol Strikers in the other encounters. Both teams defeated Striker three sets to one at the end of the opening day of the league.
